How is each letter personalised?
Each letter is crafted just for your little one – including their name and magical address on the envelope, as well as a number of inclusions of their name throughout the narrative of the letter. Head to each product page to see examples, as well as the specific letter inclusions for your letter of choice.
-
How does the address on my child’s letter work? Does it have to be our actual address?
The address on your child’s envelope doesn’t have to be their actual address – and we encourage it not to be! Using a descriptive address that is specific to them is the perfect way to make the letter the most magical piece of mail your little one will ever receive!
If you are looking for inspiration, we have a few pages dedicated to that! You'll find Santa inspiration here, Tooth Fairy inspiration here, and Welcome to the World inspiration here.
In terms of how the letter actually gets to them – it will be posted to you in a discreet cardboard mailer. This way you can give it to your child when the timing is right. Our intentionally boring mailers will ensure no little eyes peek too soon!!
-
How do I give my little one their letter?
It is entirely up to you, and the possibilities are endless. For those looking for a little more guidance, we think they are best delivered as if by magic – leaving your little one to find their letter.
We always love to see the joy our letters bring, so make sure to tag us on social - @lettersforthelittleones
-
Can I look at the letter before I give it to my child?
We intentionally leave our letters unsealed so you can take a sneak peek before your little one does! From there, you can either seal it yourself or just leave it as is.
-
Can I write my own letter? If yes, how long can it be?
Absolutely! We have a "Write Your Own" product for all our collections - you can find our Santa Claus one here, our Tooth Fairy ones here and here, and our Welcome to the World one here. Most people base their letters on ours to give the letter a little structure, but feel free to write your own from scratch. Please note that we will not print profanities.
In terms of length - we give character limits which you can find in the product description. Ideally write as close to that character limit as possible as we find our letters look best when the page is full.
-
What does handcrafting mean? Are the envelopes and letters actually handwritten?
One by one, we carefully create each letter and envelope. We start with the contents of the letter and the envelope addressing - we print these using fonts to look as close to handwriting as possible (allowing consistency between all letters). Once we've double checked the contents are as you ordered, we carefully finish your letter by hand placing all the postage stamps to each envelope. By doing this, we are are able to perfectly create your little one's letter with as little room for error as possible.
-
What do I do with the letter once my child has read it?
We believe our letters are keepsakes that should be treasured for years to come – be that in your child’s room with their special things, or with you to be kept safe.

FAQ
General Questions
Questions about Santa Letter Writing Kits
-
What do I do with my child’s letter when they’ve finished writing it?
Santa’s instructions within the Letter Writing Kit state that your children’s letters have been registered for Express Sleigh Mail, which means that “the elves will come along to your place at night time to collect the letters on his behalf”. That is where you step in! We believe your children’s letters/drawings are a beautiful keepsake, capturing a special moment in time. When your little one is asleep and the coast is clear, we suggest tucking it away for safe keeping so you can look back on them when they are much older.
-
What if my child wants to post the letter in the post box?
They are more than welcome to do this! We just prefer using the “Express Sleigh Mail” method (parents tucking the letters away for safe keeping) as that allows you to keep this precious memory and be able to look back on it for years to come.
-
Why are Santa’s Official Letter Writing Kits not suitable for children under three?
Since our kits contain small parts (the magical postage stamps), they are not suitable for use for children under three years old as small parts are a choking hazard. For children over the age of three, we recommend adult supervision at all times due to small parts within the kit.
-
Are they real postage stamps?
The stamps contained within the kit are “magical stamps”, designed by us and not to be used within the postal network.
-
Do I automatically get one of your letters as a reply if I buy a kit?
This product does not ensure a reply from Santa Claus. If you would like Santa Claus to reply to your children’s letters, please see our “Write Your Own” letter product here where you can craft your own reply.
-
Will you be restocking when you sell out?
Unfortunately we only have limited stock each season, so once they’re gone we won’t be restocking.
-
Do you wholesale your Letter Writing Kits?
If you’re interested in stocking our Kits in your store, please get in touch with us at hello@lettersforthelittleones.com
Questions about Tooth Fairy Letters
-
How do I give my child their Tooth Fairy letter?
All of our Tooth Fairy letters are written to be given to a child when they lose their first tooth. When collecting their tooth when they are asleep, leave their letter for them to find in the morning.
-
When do I order my child a Tooth Fairy letter?
We’d hate for your little one to lose their tooth before their letter arrives. We therefore recommend that you order your little one’s letter from the Tooth Fairy sooner rather than later, and hold onto it until the time is right.
-
I ordered a Deluxe Tooth Fairy letter. When do I give my child their tooth collection pouch?
Entirely up to you – it can be given to your little one in anticipation of losing their first tooth, or when their letter appears. We don’t mention the pouch in any of our Tooth Fairy letters to allow you to choose how and when your little one receives their pouch.
- Can I write a custom letter from the Tooth Fairy?
-
Can I include multiple children in one Tooth Fairy letter?
Since each child will lose their first tooth at a different time to their siblings, each letter has been written for individual children only. Should you wish for your children to receive a letter from the Tooth Fairy, not on the occasion of losing a first tooth, please find our Write Your Own letter here where you can customise the letter for your little ones.
-
With the Deluxe Tooth Fairy letters – am I able to purchase a pink envelope with a grey pouch? Or vice versa?
We currently sell our envelopes and pouches only in their set colour ways (pink with pink, grey with grey) as they have been designed to colour complement each other. Let us know if you would prefer to mix and match, and we can look release this option in the future.
Questions About Welcome to the World Letters
-
Do the “Write Your Own” Welcome to the World letters just have to be to babies and big brothers and sisters?
No, we designed all of our stationery and postage stamps to allow you to have a lot more flexibility with this series. That means you can use these letters to announce a baby is on its way to grandparents, ask loved ones to be godparents, or any other way your heart desires.
-
Who do I “sign off” my letter as?
Our Welcome to the World letters are designed to be signed off from parent/guardians to their little ones. We love that all families look a little different from each other, so the sign off on these letters are entirely customisable! You can sign them off as yourself, you and your partner, or even as a gift to new parents and their child. Just stick within a 40 character limit. We will adjust the letter pronouns (I, we) accordingly.
-
I’d love my letter to come from The Stork or The Baby Fairy instead. Can I do this?
Absolutely! All of our letters in this series have been designed to be written on behalf of parents/guardians, so should you want a letter to be written on behalf of The Stork or The Baby Fairy we recommend writing your own letter (which you can find here). You can always use our letter as a template and tweak accordingly if you don’t want to write a letter from scratch!
-
How long should my “Write Your Own” letter be?
We suggest sticking as close to the character count as possible, as your letter will then fill the page nicely.
-
What date do I put on the envelope?
Entirely up to you! You can put in the exact date, put in something a little more generic (e.g. November 2022 or Summer 2022), or even leave it blank. Click here to see some examples. Please note that this field is optional.
-
What is the descriptor field?
Since your little one’s name takes up the majority of the envelope, we use descriptors for the Welcome to the World series instead of magical addresses. This field is fully customisable to allow you to put in a magical description of your little one. For new babies, some of our favourite examples include “the littlest member of the XXX family” and “loved always and forever by Mummy and Daddy”. For siblings, some of our favourite examples include “the cutest member of the XXX family” and “the little boy who is ever so loved by mummy and daddy”. Click here to see some examples on envelopes.
-
When do I order?
Our Sibling letter is designed to help you share your wonderful news with your child, and congratulate them on becoming a big brother/sister. Please order accordingly. Our New Baby letter can be ordered before or after the baby is born, depending on whether or not you have chosen a name for your little one!

-
We are going to be away for Christmas – what do I put as my child’s “magical address” on their envelope?

- Can I include multiple children in one Santa letter?
-
Can I write a custom letter from Santa?

-
At home, we call Santa "Father Christmas". Can my letter be signed off by Father Christmas instead?
Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Papa Noel, Father Christmas... Santa goes by a lot of different names! He doesn't mind what you or your little ones call him, but always signs off his letters as Santa Claus (to match his gold foiled official stationery..!)
-
Can I purchase backdated Santa letters?
Yes! Please find our backdated Santa letters here.
-
How do your backdated letters work?
Our backdated letters are the perfect way to complete your little one's collection - allowing them to look back on all the letters Santa Claus has sent them throughout their life.
In terms of how the order process works, our backdated letters from Santa Claus work in the exact same way as any of our other letters, with the addition of you telling us which year should be in the top right corner of the letter. Our order form will walk you through everything you need to know, and everything you need to supply us!
-
How long should my “Write Your Own” letter be?
We suggest sticking as close to the character count as possible, as your letter will then fill the page nicely.
-
Will you be restocking when you sell out?
Unfortunately we only have limited stock each season, so once they’re gone we won’t be restocking. We sold out before our order deadline last year, so recommend ordering as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
