PAST LETTERS

Here you will find all of our letters from Santa Claus, showing where your child's name would be featured throughout the narrative. The most magical keepsake that your little one can cherish for years to come.

  • First Christmas

    Dear Luna,

What a joy and honour it is to write you this letter in celebration of your very first Christmas. I was so thrilled to add your name to my list this year, and I can tell we are going to be marvellous friends.

Since you don’t know me yet, Luna, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Santa Claus, but you can just call me Santa. I live in a wonderful place called the North Pole – it’s so magical here, always covered in a thick layer of glistening snow as far as the eye can see. You should feel how cold it is! I need to wear my woolly red hat every day!

I spend nearly all my time up here together with my team of elves and very trusty reindeer, and every Christmas Eve it is our privilege to climb aboard my sleigh and spread joy and presents to children all over the world.

Christmas is a time filled with love and happiness, and I know your family and friends are going to have such an exciting time introducing you to the magic of Christmas. It’s my favourite time of the year, and I hope it will become one of yours too Luna.

I look forward to visiting you again next Christmas, and perhaps when you are old enough, you might even write to me at the North Pole? I will be sure to look out for your letter!

Merry Christmas, Luna, and I hope you have a truly wonderful year!

  • Love (2024)

    Dear Daisy,

Greetings from the snowy North Pole, where the magic of Christmas is in full swing! As I sit by the warm fire, singing carols surrounded by some of my dearest friends, I couldn't help but be reminded of one of my favourite things about Christmas. Love.

During this special time of year, love is the beating heart of everything we do here in the North Pole. From crafting the perfect presents to wrapping them with care, each and every step is filled with love! The elves and I take such great pride in knowing that all our hard work is bound to bring smiles to children’s faces on Christmas morning (including yours, Daisy)!

I often receive letters from children around the world, and it is always so clear how much love plays a role in their Christmases too! From spending time with friends and family, to the beautiful words written in cards and the kindness we show one another, there are so many ways that love makes Christmas special.

I wonder how you will show your friends and family how much you love them this Christmas, Daisy? With a heart as big as yours, I know that they are some of the luckiest people in the world!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Daisy. May your days be filled with love and kindness, and may you never forget to carry the magic of the holiday season wherever you go!

    Merry Christmas,

    Santa Claus

  • Heart (2024)

    Dear Theo,

What a magical week it has been up here at the North Pole! The snow has been falling, the Toy Workshop is full of beautifully wrapped presents, and the elves have been singing “Jingle Bells” around the clock!

I am so grateful for each and every day here and consider myself lucky to get to call the North Pole my home. Even though it takes a great deal of hard work, I wouldn’t change it for the world! You see, I have always known that I wanted to spend my days spreading joy and cheer. By following my heart, I have been lucky enough to do just that, and what a privilege it is to bring smiles to children’s faces each Christmas morning!

This isn’t just true of me, but the elves too! I’m not sure if you know this, Theo, but each elf that lives here in the North Pole has their very own role and responsibilities. Some are expert toy makers, some take care of the reindeer, and others are very skilled sleigh stackers! Every single one of them is following their heart and doing what they love.

I wanted to tell you this, Theo, as I hope that you too always follow your heart and do what makes you happy. There are so many exciting adventures ahead of you, and only you will know what the right path is. Wherever life may take you, I can’t wait to see what marvellous things you do when you follow your dreams!

    Merry Christmas, Theo!

  • Curious (2024)

    Dear Ezra,

What a whirlwind of a week it has been here in the North Pole, where the elves and I have been working around the clock wrapping the last of the presents. They are piled sky high, in every colour, shape and size that you can imagine!

Whilst I was working on one of your gifts today, Ezra, the elves mentioned that you have been so delightfully curious this year, learning something new each and every day! My goodness, I am so happy to hear that! You should be so proud.

I wonder if you know that we here in the North Pole are rather curious beings too! You see, learning, exploring and asking questions is what leads the elves and I to new and exciting discoveries every single day... And when that curiosity is used in the Toy Workshop, it means that we are able to build and create toys that are even more magical - for children just like you!

There is so much joy to be found in remaining curious, Ezra, so I hope that you always continue to explore, grow and learn. There is no doubt that the world will be a better place because of it!

I better dash, Ezra, as I can hear the elves outside having a rather exciting snowball fight. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

    Merry Christmas!

  • Celebrate (Multiple Children Letter) (2024)

    Dear Quinn and Polly,

I can hardly contain my excitement knowing that Christmas is nearly upon us! The North Pole is such a wonderful place at this time of year, full of anticipation for Christmas Eve! The elves and I spend our days working tirelessly to create the most extraordinary gifts for children around the world, and our evenings are filled with fun festive traditions. Last night we made an entire village of gingerbread houses, our biggest one yet!

I wonder what some of your favourite holiday traditions are, Quinn and Polly? Perhaps you've been singing carols, decorating the tree, or gathering with loved ones for a joyous celebration or two?

Coming together to celebrate with our friends and family is something I truly treasure about Christmas. But do you know what, Quinn and Polly? It’s not just the big events, like Christmas, that are worth celebrating. It’s the little things that are just as important! When we take a moment to celebrate each other’s joys and milestones, we not only show our loved ones how much we care for them, but we also spread love and cheer all around us. It really makes our world the most magical place.

So, my dear friends, I hope that your Christmas is filled celebrating with those you love, and that the coming year brings you many more reasons to celebrate.

    Merry Christmas, Quinn and Polly!

  • Gifts (2023)

    Dear Goldie,

Greetings from the North Pole! I have just sat down by the fire after a delightful evening with the elves, sipping hot chocolate, eating delicious gingerbread cookies, and sharing our favourite Christmas stories! It is a tradition that we have cherished for many years, and I hope for many more to come!

I wonder if you have a favourite Christmas story, Goldie? Tales of miracles, flying reindeer and enchanted snowmen are just a few of my favourites! The wonderful thing about all the stories of Christmas is their true message - that love, hope, and kindness are the greatest gifts of all.

As I travel around the world on Christmas Eve, delivering presents to children like you, I am in awe of the power of these gifts. I see the love that friends and families share as they gather around the tree on Christmas morning. I see the hope in the hearts of children who believe that anything is possible. And I see the kindness that people show to one another, spreading joy and happiness wherever they go.

Goldie, I already know that your heart is full of these beautiful gifts. Your kindness, love, and hope are what make you so special! My Christmas wish for you is that you continue to share these gifts with those around you, and that joy follows you everywhere you go.

Merry Christmas, dear Goldie! I can't wait to hear about all the wonderful things you will get up to next year.

  • Hope (2023)

    Dear Theo,

I am writing to you on a very early morning here in the North Pole, where the snow is falling and the reindeer are fast asleep! You see, since Christmas is almost here, the elves and I are waking up even earlier than usual because there is still so much to be done. From making beautiful toys, to wrapping up gifts, we are certainly very busy!

As I was making a cup of hot tea before sitting down to write to you, I found myself reflecting on all the things I have been grateful for over the past year. I often find myself doing this as Christmas approaches and the year comes to a close! The beautiful thing is that every time I look back on what has made me grateful, I can’t help but look forward to the year ahead with a heart full of hope!

I wonder if this is something you like to do too, Theo? What were some of your favourite things about this year? Perhaps some of your most cherished moments are yet to come at Christmas time..! No matter what your year has looked like, we can all look forward to a new year of brilliant adventures, laughter and time with loved ones!

Speaking of looking forward to things ahead, I must get going as today is particularly exciting! I am testing a number of brand new toys, and that always makes for a marvellous day!

Have a wonderful Christmas, Theo, full of the joy, magic and hope that this special time of year brings. I can’t wait to hear what delightful adventures you’ll embark on in the year ahead.

  • Imagination (2023)

    Dear Hazel,

Hello from the North Pole, where the snow is falling and carols can be heard all day long! In these parts there are many things to smile about at this time of the year, but hearing from the elves about all the wonderful things you have done this year, Hazel, has brought a particularly big smile to my face!

The elves and I spent a long time in the Toy Workshop today, using our imaginations to create some exciting new toys! You see, dreaming, imagining, and creating are part of everything we do here in the North Pole. It helps us make magnificent gifts, solve problems and even explore amazing worlds in our minds! Isn’t that marvellous?

The thing is, it’s not just the elves and I who have vivid imaginations. All around the world children just like you have an incredible ability to dream and create too! I’ve heard that your imagination is particularly bright, Hazel, and I couldn't be more thrilled!

I wonder if you dream of grand adventures? Or perhaps you have even imagined what it's like up here in the snowy North Pole? The beauty of imagination is that it allows us to think big, explore new and exciting possibilities, and even to make the impossible come to life.

I hope you have a magical Christmas, Hazel, surrounded by loved ones and full of exciting dreams. You never know where your imagination will take you…

  • Spirit (Multiple Children Letter) (2023)

    Dear Amelia and Rex,

As I sit by the fire with a gingerbread cookie in hand, I'm reminded of how truly wonderful the lead up to Christmas is. It's no secret that it’s my favourite time of year, filled with celebrations, delicious treats, and flying my sleigh around the world delivering presents! Whilst I know that not everyone is lucky enough to have a sleigh like mine, I suspect it still might be many people’s favourite time of year too!

Children often ask me why it can't be Christmas every day, and I must admit that I have spent many years wondering the same thing. I’ve come to realize that there is a way for the spirit of Christmas to live throughout the year… You see, Amelia and Rex, Christmas is not just a day - it's also a feeling that we can carry in our hearts all year long!

Here in the North Pole, we do this by showing kindness to those around us, spending time with loved ones, and spreading joy in every way we can. Luckily, this isn’t just something we can do here, but something that all my friends around the world can do too – including you!

I wonder if you have any ideas about how you can share the magic and spirit of Christmas with those around you, Amelia and Rex? However each of you share your joy, kindness and love, I have no doubt that the world will be a better place for it.

Merry Christmas, my dear friends. May you have a truly delightful Christmas and a magical year ahead!

  • Magic (2022)

    Dear Tilly

It has been such a wonderful week here in the North Pole! I have been carefully putting the finishing touches on the presents, checking the reindeer are keeping nice and warm, and making sure my trusty sleigh is in tip top condition for Christmas Eve. Even though the last minute preparations are always very busy, I love each and every minute of it!

I often get asked how I am able to make and deliver so many presents to children all across the world, from the beaches of Australia to the high mountains of Canada. You see, Tilly, whilst there is a great deal of help, hard work and love that goes into every child’s gifts, there is one thing we cannot forget… Magic.

In the North Pole, magic is easy to find and it’s in everything we do! But can I let you know a secret? Magic is not just for me and my friends in the North Pole. The truth is, magic is everywhere – you just need to look for it.

Perhaps you have seen magic in the stars twinkling at night, or in the glow of a beautiful sunrise? Perhaps you have felt magic in a cuddle with your favourite toy, or in the joy of spending time with those you love? Magic is even in your incredible imagination, and in the kindness you show others! You see, magic is all around you. The marvellous thing is, the more you look for it, the more you find!

I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas, Tilly, filled with joy, love and plenty of magic.

  • Memories (2022)

    Dear Violet,

What a delightful day it has been here in the North Pole! I woke up to a sparkling layer of fresh snow covering the ground outside and thought it was the perfect morning for the annual toboggan race with the elves! You see, every year we like to hold a little competition to see who is the fastest. It is always one of my favourite things to do in the lead-up to Christmas! You would love it, Violet! It truly is the most fun.

I have just popped inside to warm up with a mug of my favourite hot chocolate, and started thinking about why the race is so special to me. Do you know, I’ve come to realise it is not about the toboggans at all. It is the fun and excitement that comes from spending time with some of my favourite people in the whole wide world, and creating memories together that will last a lifetime. I certainly won’t forget a day like today any time soon!

I wonder what some of your favourite memories are, Violet? I wonder if, like mine, yours were created with friends, family and loved ones by your side?

The magical thing about memories is that new ones can be made every day, and in my experience this is especially true at Christmas time! So my Christmas wish for you is that you get to spend time with all those you love dearly, making some beautiful new memories that you will cherish for many years to come.

    Merry Christmas, Violet!

  • Together (Multiple Children Letter) (2022)

    Dear Penny and Jasmine,

What a treat it is to sit down and write to you, my wonderful friends! You see, the preparations in the North Pole are in full swing and much is still to be done. Even when my days are full, nothing brings me more joy than writing to children around the world (and you happen to be some of my favourites, Penny and Jasmine)!

Today has been rather exciting, as it was finally time to map out the perfect sleigh route and brief the reindeer on our upcoming journey. It never fails to amaze me how talented my wonderful reindeer are. There aren’t many creatures that would be able to fly around the world each Christmas, but each year they do it brilliantly!

Do you know, I believe they can only do this because they each have their own unique strengths. One has remarkable speed, one is brilliant at following the map, and one even has a bright red nose to light up the way! By bringing these different strengths together, they are able to achieve something far greater than they could alone.

The wonderful thing is, I think this is true of us too. Every child is gifted with their very own strengths that makes them beautifully different from one another, even the two of you! I believe it is these differences that make the world the colourful and magical place it is, and when we bring our differences together we can make something extra special indeed!

So keep being exactly who you are, Penny and Jasmine, and I hope you have a really magical Christmas.

  • Traditions (2022)

    Dear Clementine,

It’s been a whirlwind week for the elves and I here in the North Pole! We’ve been working around the clock getting everything ready for Christmas Eve, and I can’t wait for children everywhere to see all the magnificent toys we have made! I really hope you like yours…

I’ve just ducked away from the preparations to make some delicious gingerbread cookies (one of my special holiday traditions), and whilst they are in the oven I thought it would be the perfect time to write to my dear friend, Clementine!

Traditions are often talked about at Christmas, aren’t they? From putting up Christmas trees, to singing carols and watching our favourite festive movies, the traditions are endless. I wonder if you know that many of the Christmas traditions we have are actually hundreds of years old! Whilst some prefer old traditions and others prefer new, I love that each family celebrates Christmas in their own special way.

I wonder what your favourite traditions might be, Clementine? I have a hard time picking out my own favourites as so many bring a smile to my face. Although, I must say, I do love it when children leave out delicious treats for the reindeer and I on Christmas Eve…!

Whatever your traditions may be, I hope that these holidays are filled with joy and celebration. Perhaps you might even create a new tradition this year that will last for another hundred years!

    Merry Christmas, Clementine!

  • Joy (2021)

    Dear Noah,

As I write to you this snowy December evening, I am sitting at my desk watching the elves put their finishing touches on all the presents. You should see how marvellous they look! I think I can even spot one of yours from here…

It has been such a cold year up in the North Pole – it hasn’t stopped snowing in months! Each morning we start the day with a wonderful snowball fight, followed by a delicious cup of hot chocolate, and then the elves and I make our way to the toy workshop. I can’t wait for you to see some of the things we’ve been working on this year – they’re truly spectacular!

All this excitement in the run up to Christmas has got me thinking…What is it that makes Christmas so special? I have met a lot of people in my time, Noah, and everyone has a different answer.  Some say it’s the beautifully wrapped presents, some say it’s the delicious food, and other people say it’s the charming carols we sing at the top of our voices all December long…

Do you know what I think it is? It’s the joy that I see in every child. Children may be little, but I know that they are the most joyful and happy people on the planet. What’s even better is when children share that joy with others – that creates a magic like no other!

So have a wonderful Christmas, Noah, and don’t forget to share the magic with your friends and family.

  • Kindness (2021)

    Dear Ella

I was just sitting down beside the fire with a steaming cup of my favourite hot chocolate, when I thought it would be a perfect time to write to my wonderful friend – Ella! You see, it is almost Christmas which means it is nearly time to start my journey delivering presents to children all around the world.

I was chatting with the elves earlier today and they told me how kind you have been to your friends and family this year. I am so glad to hear that!

Do you know, I think kindness is one of the most powerful things. The smallest act can completely transform someone’s day, and I think that is one of the things that makes the world such a magical place. So you should be very proud, Ella, because your kindness has made a huge difference to those around you.

Now, it’s getting late and I still have a few more presents to work on before going to bed. It is very important that I get enough sleep as I cannot be tired for the “Big Day” (that’s what we call Christmas Eve in these parts).

I look forward to receiving a letter from you next Christmas to hear about all the wonderful things you have been up to throughout the year!

    Merry Christmas, Ella.

  • Unique (2021)

    Dear Ivy,

What an exciting day it has been! The hustle and bustle here in the North Pole has been electric! Why, you may ask? Well, Ivy, Christmas is almost here and that means the elves have been busy putting their finishing touches on all the presents and I have been carefully stacking my sleigh. I must admit, the elves have outdone themselves this year and I can’t wait to see what all the children think of their presents when they wake up on Christmas morning.

I couldn’t leave the North Pole without writing a letter to you, my wonderful friend, so I’ve ducked away from all the last-minute preparations for a bit of peace and quiet.

I have heard from the elves that you have learnt so many new and wonderful things this year, Ivy. Isn’t that marvellous! I love to hear what all the children around the world have been up to, and yet I am always astounded that everyone’s story is different.

Did you know that no two snowflakes are alike? In all my years at the North Pole, surrounded by snow, I have never found two that are quite the same. Just like snowflakes, I have never met two children that are the same either. Every single one of you is unique, and every single one of you is precious.

So keep being you, Ivy. You truly are remarkable, and I can’t wait to hear about all the fabulous things you will do next year. Merry Christmas!

  • Families (Multiple Children Letter) (2021)

    Dear Lily and Hugo,

It’s a cold December evening here in the North Pole, where outside my window I can see the snow glistening under the moonlit sky. What a beautiful sight! With the fire crackling in the corner, I thought there couldn’t be a better time to write to some of my favourite friends – Lily and Hugo.

There has been such a remarkable amount of snow here over the past few months. The elves and I have enjoyed many nail-biting snowball fights and there have been more snowmen built than I can count! It has made the run up to Christmas particularly special this year.

I love that there are so many wonderful things that make Christmas such an exciting time of year for children around the world. What are your favourite things about Christmas? I wonder if it is your marvellous traditions, sharing thoughtful gifts, or the beautiful carols we all sing at the top of our voices? Or perhaps even something else?

Whatever your favourite things about Christmas may be, it is always important to share the joy of the holidays with those you love. For some people that is the family they were born into, and for others it is the family and friends they choose. Whoever your loved ones may be, and no matter how near or far away they are, I hope that you are able to share as much joy and kindness as you can with them. It is what truly makes Christmas the most magical time of the year.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Lily and Hugo
